Palazzo Stanga Rossi di San Secondo
Built by the Stanga marquises in the last decade of the 15th century at the entrance to the Strata Magistra, the palace has completely lost its 15th-century appearance.
The imposing Renaissance portal that adorned the entrance, attributed to Giovanni Pietro da Rho, was removed at the end of the 19th century and has been on display at the Louvre Museum since 1875, but a copy can be admired in the Salone dei Quadriof the Palazzo Comunale in Cremona.
All that remains of the 18th-century renovation, carried out by the new owners, the Rossi di San Secondo family, is the spectacular staircase with its rich rocaille balustrade, at the top of which are the family crest, musical-themed stuccoes and an allegorical fresco attributed to Vincenzo Borroni.
