Piazza San Luca
The small Piazza San Luca, still paved with ancient cobblestones, is overlooked by the church, with its simple façade embellished by an elegant 15th-century porch, and the extremely elegant temple of the Cristo Risorto, built in 1503 to fulfil a vow made after Cremona narrowly escaped the plague that threatened the city in the early 16th century.
Attributed to the architect Bernardino De Lera, the building, inspired by Bramante, has an octagonal plan and is divided into three external orders, marked by cornices resting on double pilasters at the corners of each side. The interior was decorated at the end of the 16th century by Giovan Battista Trotti, known as Il Malosso.
