World Violin Day
Sunday the 13th of December 2020
On Sunday the 13th of December the Violin’s Museum will be the protagonist of the World Violin’s Day. Every year, in fact, on this date, several initiatives are organized to promote the violin on the social media and on the communication platforms with the hashtag #WorldViolinDay. For this edition, even if they are closed because of the pandemic, the main museums of musical instruments are going to propose a very interesting joint initiative. The Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York and Cité de la musique – Philharmonie de Paris, ChiMei Museum of Taiwan, the Violin’s Museum in Cremona and the National Music Museum of South Dakota are going to create on the Youtube platform a playlist of music tracks played with some instruments belonging to their collections.
The ambassadors of Cremona will be the Stradivari “Cremonese” 1715 and the Guarneri del Gesù “Stauffer” 1734. With first, Sara Zeneli is going to the “Csárdás” by Vittorio Monti. With the second Edoardo Zosi will be the protagonist of “Largo” of the Third Sonata, BWV 1005, by Johann Sebastian Bach. Both the tracks were recorded in the Auditorium Giovanni Arvedi.
