Cremona’s Guest Book

The emotions of those who decide to visit Cremona

Your experience in Cremona is very important for us. Your stories, your words and pictures offer a new point of view about the town and they spur us to improve more and more.

This week we are happy to propose part of the article dedicated by the National Geographic to Cremona’s violin-making tradition and to the other 10 UNESCO sites in Lombardy.
The reportage enhances the extraordinary cultural heritage of Lombardy included by UNESCO in the Universal Heritage. A real invitation to start a journey and to discover the 11 sites of Lombardy.

"Lombardy means, undoubtedly, history and culture, said the regional councilor Stefano Bruno Galli. The wonderful article of the "National Geographic" recognized these characteristics and we consider this reportage ad a prize for our work and our commitment to enhance Lombardy’s cultural heritage. Our heritage includes totally 18 UNESCO awards in the material, intangible, human, bio-sphere and creative cities lists".

It is very interesting also this  sentence taken from the Facebook page of Lombardia Segreta.

" How beautiful you are #Cremona! You are breathtaking, a delight to watch!".

Also the website InLombardia speaks about Cremona and describes it in the following way:

"Cremona is wonderful, it can surprise you greatly: every corner is a true wonder! Starting from the Cathedral Square with the main symbols, the Cathedral, the Torrazzo and the Baptistry, you can walk till the square dedicated to Saint Omobono, the Patron Saint of the town. It is worth a visit the Violin’s Museum which celebrates the town’s violin-making tradition. Then, you can enjoy the little squares and parks along the Po river, on the border of the province and of the region”.

Also TouringMAgazine in April speaks about Cremona and, in particular, about the project Po Grande through which Cremona’s river was included in the UNESCO Program "Man and the Biosphere” :

"After the spring and the delta, also the central part of the longest river in Italy was included in the UNESCO Program "Man and the Biosphere”. A social environment, where the territory is safeguarded and where the men and the nature work side by side. Among the capital cities, the closest to the river, is Cremona. The town will have soon a new dock located only 1 km from the town center, where the tourists can visit the Cathedral’s Square and the Violin’s Museum. The river banks here in Cremona are wonderful and they are characterized by several bike-lanes and cycling routes which start from the capital city and then reach other provinces, like Bergamo, Sabbioneta (Mn), Busseto (Pr). It is also possible to go on cruise on the river at the sunset with an on-board dinner or cocktail.”
