Cremona is the world capital-city of violin-making, techniques used by its violin-makers come directly from those of the ancient masters of the 16th, 17th and 18th Century. Its masterpieces are exhibited at the Violin’s Museum, together with the tools which Stradivari used to use in his workshop. In Cremona there are today more than 150 workshops! They are scattered all around the city centre: in these places it is constantly renewed the art of violin-making which is today part of the intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO.
In Cremona were born some famous musicians like Monteverdi and Ponchielli and important international artists like Sofonisba Anguissola.
